Ihab Labatia, MD

Board certified in physical medicine and rehabilitation, as well as spinal cord injury, Dr. Labatia is also a diplomate of both the American Board of Interventional Pain Physicians (ABIPP) and the American Board of Pain Medicine (ABPM).

Following the completion of medical school in Cairo, Egypt, Dr. Labatia completed his residency training at Case Western University, Cleveland, Ohio.  Additionally, he completed a fellowship in spinal cord injury at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, Pa.  Dr. Labatia’s training included conservative spine care, in addition to the treatment of musculoskeletal disorders and spinal cord injury.

Dr. Labatia is skilled in performing fluroscopic guided spinal injections, discography, radiofrequency neurotomy, spasticity management, and electro diagnostic testing.  He’s also proficient in the treatment of patients with various occupational and sports-related injuries including neck, back, nerve and musculoskeletal disorders.

With a special interest in conservative spine management through a multidisciplinary approach (rehabilitation services, medication, and various spine interventions), Dr. Labatia is experienced in neuromuscular electrodiagnostic studies and various treatment modalities of spasticity, including the use of medications, therapy and Botox injections.

He is a member of the American Academy of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation and the American Society of Interventional Pain Physicians.  He and his wife, make their home in Johnson City.
