What is Physical Therapy?

What is Physical Therapy?Physical Therapy is a healthcare profession with the goal of returning persons to their highest levels of function and independence. Physical therapists have a knowledge of the multiple systems within your body and how they interact. Using this knowledge, physical therapist address concerns such as pain, limited movement and mobility, limited/decreased independence with normal activities, weakness, falls, decreasing disability and preventing future injuries.

Your physical therapist will perform an evaluation to determine the issues limiting your function or independence. The physical therapist will create a customized treatment plan to address your concerns.

You and your physical therapist will work together as a team in order to reach your highest level of function.
