“Which size should I get for my breast implants?” This is the common question for who decides to choose breast implants. The measurements of your breasts, the desired size, the characteristics of your breasts, etc. are all important factors in determining the best breast augmentation procedure for you.
What is the difference between bra size and size breast implants?
Although bra cups are size A, B, C, and more, breast implants are not.
Your bra size is a number-letter combination (band size plus cup size). While the cup size measures the volume of the breasts, the band size measures the chest. By taking a measurement around the breasts and dividing it by the bandwidth, you can find your cup size quickly and easily. A, B, C, D, etc. are all letters that represent this measurement.
Although it seems simple, this approach isn’t always reliable. Additionally, the breast’s size recommendations range greatly depending on the brand. This difference in size explains how two bras of the same size might fit very differently. You might discover that one brand’s C-cup bras fit the best, while another’s B-cup bras fit the best.
On the other hand, Breast implants are offered in units called CCs, or cubic centimeters. Starting at around 100cc and up to about 1,000cc, implants come in a variety of sizes. When the implants are put submuscular, most women choose breast implants in the 300–400 cc range and 200–300 cc range.
There are other factors than the size that affect breast look. Also important is projection. The implant projection is the distance it protrudes from the chest wall. Depending on the projection, two implants of the same size might produce quite distinct breast shapes. Wide bases and reduced projection characterize low-profile implants. The base and projection of high-profile implants are smaller.
How to know which size breast implants
When selecting which size is best for you, it’s critical to examine your individual body dimensions from a medical aspect.
A big breast implant might create difficulties both immediately after surgery and years afterward.
Complications include incision line separation and severe sagging. However, it is also acknowledged that a too-small implant will not change the form of your body adequately.
Measurements including shoulder width, height, and rib cage breadth are utilized to identify a range of implant sizes that will produce proportionate improvement while lowering the risk of problems.
Factors to consider when choosing a suitable size for your breast implant
Whether in breast enlargement, or breast reduction surgery, there are multiple factors that come into play when selecting the right breast implant size.
If you don’t plan carefully, you could encounter situations in life that would negatively affect you and your new implants. You should keep the following in mind when selecting your size breast implants:
- FITNESS & EXERCISE
Do you like to exercise regularly? If so, it may be best to be aware of the fact that breasts over a certain size can make some physical activities more difficult or cumbersome, such as running and playing tennis.
- YOUR PERSONALITY
Are you the kind of person who likes to get attention, or are you quieter and more reserved? The larger the implants, the more attention you can attract. You may want to opt for a slight increase in size, enough to balance your body and achieve a more natural look.
- BE TRUE TO YOURSELF
You should not base your decision on breast size based on the model you have seen on the internet. They are not you. Your body is different and the size of the breasts that the model has may not fit well on your body. You should select a size that accurately reflects your own personality and lifestyle.
- CONTACT YOUR PLASTIC SURGEON
Don’t be afraid to have a consultation about breast augmentation surgery, they are the one who understands the process well. You need to express your expectations and it is your surgeon’s job to understand them in order to help you achieve them. If you feel that your concerns are not being addressed, don’t be afraid to ask for further clarification or explain your situation further.
- KNOW WHAT YOU WANT
You should not agree to have surgery until you are sure you will like your new look and size. If you have any questions before your surgery, talk to your surgeon about it! As you can see, there are many factors that you need to consider when selecting the size of your implants. You shouldn’t choose a size because it fits a friend or a celebrity. You must select a size that is right for you. The before and after photos of the breast operation that we show you in the clinic can help you.
The process is personal and you should always consider your doctor’s suggestions, especially if the surgeon identifies that you have tuberous breasts, you have the final say on the size you select.
